Flixweed (DESCURAINIA SPOHIA)

It is a weed that is difficult to control due to emergence recorded basically across the entire growing season. The flixweed is an annual summer plant that rather doesn't winter. If the crop is well taken care of over years, then the risk of its emergence is minimal. A typical situation in which one must count with its expansion in the management of fallow areas. It then develops well among all kinds of crops. A member of the brassicaceae. The maximum height of a developed stem is approx. a metre. The leaves of the weed are grey-green in colour, and the blossoming period is between May and October.

The flixweed grows mostly on nitrogen-rich soils. It exhibits a tendency to grow among cereals, especially rye, and it does not shy away from root vegetables. In the last case, spray treatments using appropriate weed control products is found to be an effective control method.
