Shepherd's purse (CAPSELLA BURSA – PASTORIS)

This is a plant that is resistant to extreme weather conditions – it can cope perfectly with droughts as well as heavy rains. The shepherd's purse winters successfully, is a summer or winter plant, both annual and biennial. It emerges towards the beginning of the summer, in the autumn, but also in the spring. It is a common weed found around garden and field plantations. It can be a vector of diseases for brassiceaeae, including winter rape. This means that it must necessarily be brought under control in a field. It prefers nutrient-rich soils, however, it can develop well on any kind of soil.

The shepherd's purse can exert much pressure as a weed. In such a case, it is necessary to undertake certain steps to control it. Herbicides are very effective in this regard. Spraying by suitably selected products will bring about the right effects
